Forvis Mazars is seeking a leader with deep insurance transformation experience to help grow and expand our Financial Services consulting practice. This role is for an executive-level consulting leader who has experience advising insurance entities, including P&C, Life, Health Specialty, and Reinsurance carriers on enterprise transformation, operating model modernization, AI-enabled workflow reinvention, core platform modernization, and Office of the CFO transformation.
You will serve as a market-facing insurance transformation leader, growing and owning executive client relationships, originating and shaping complex transformation opportunities, and leading multidisciplinary teams across strategy, operations, finance, data, technology, and AI. This leader will help clients modernize underwriting, claims, policy, billing, finance, and analytics capabilities while building a differentiated Insurance Transformation + AI offering for the broader Financial Services Insurance practice.
What You Will Do:
Client Advisory & Executive Engagement Leadership
- Build and grow our insurance transformation consulting business in the US in partnership with consulting and insurance executive leadership.
- Lead C-suite advisory engagements with insurance CEOs, CFOs, COOs, CIOs, Chief Claims Officers, Chief Underwriting Officers, and business unit leaders
- Advise insurance executives on transformation strategy, investment roadmaps, operating model redesign, AI adoption, and value realization
- Translate complex insurance economics, regulatory pressures, technology constraints, and data challenges into clear executive recommendations
- Build and serve as the primary relationship owner for select insurance clients in the New York City and Northeast markets
Insurance Strategy & Operating Model Transformation
- Lead enterprise transformation initiatives across P&C, Life, Health, Specialty, and Reinsurance carriers, including underwriting, claims, policy administration, billing, distribution, and servicing
- Redesign target operating models spanning shared services, centers of excellence, outsourcing, managed services, governance, talent, process, and technology enablement
- Diagnose current-state performance issues including leakage, rework, cycle-time drivers, manual effort, data quality gaps, control weaknesses, and customer experience friction
- Help clients modernize core insurance processes such as FNOL, coverage and causation review, investigation/SIU, subrogation, litigation management, vendor orchestration, recovery, underwriting triage, submission intake, policy servicing, billing, and producer/customer workflows
- Connect transformation roadmaps to measurable outcomes including profitable growth, loss and LAE reduction, expense efficiency, stronger controls, improved cycle times, and better policyholder, claimant, agent, and employee experience
AI, Data & Intelligent Workflow Transformation
- Shape AI-enabled and agentic AI transformation opportunities that move beyond pilots into governed, production-scale operating capabilities
- Design intelligent workflows that combine document ingestion, policy and coverage retrieval, summarization, decision support, exception triage, recommendations, and human-in-the-loop controls
- Partner with data, engineering, architecture, risk, compliance, and business teams to embed AI into underwriting, claims, finance, operations, and customer-facing processes
- Establish explainable, auditable, regulator-ready AI governance models aligned with model risk, privacy, security, compliance, and controllership expectations
- Translate AI and automation capabilities into executive-level business cases, ROI models, capability roadmaps, adoption plans, and benefits realization structures
Office of the CFO & Finance Transformation
- Lead insurance Office of the CFO transformation across Record-to-Report, controllership, close and consolidation, FP&A, forecasting, scenario modeling, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and shared services
- Help CFOs, CAOs, and finance executives improve close-cycle performance, financial data quality and lineage, forecast accuracy, auditability, governance, productivity, and decision support
- Connect finance transformation to insurance value drivers including claims cost, reserves, underwriting profitability, premium growth, commissions, reinsurance, statutory and management reporting, and actuarial inputs
- Develop finance + AI use cases such as journal entry copilots, reconciliation exception triage, flux and variance analysis, policy/accounting knowledge copilots, predictive forecasting, and driver-based planning
Practice Growth & NYC Market Leadership
- Drive business development for the Insurance Transformation practice, including market sensing, opportunity identification, account planning, proposal development, solution shaping, pricing, and deal strategy
- Build and maintain senior executive relationships across the NYC insurance ecosystem, including carriers, reinsurers, InsurTechs, and strategic technology partners
- Create repeatable go-to-market assets including transformation playbooks, AI-enabled insurance workflow accelerators, operating model frameworks, CFO transformation assets, value realization models, and industry points of view
- Within Insurance, Partner with Technology, Data & AI, Risk, Tax, Audit, and Consulting leaders to bring integrated solutions to market
- Represent Forvis Mazars externally through client events, industry forums, knowledge creation, and market-facing executive conversations
Team Leadership & Delivery Excellence
- Lead cross-functional engagement teams across strategy, operations, finance, data, technology, risk, compliance, and change management
- Own end-to-end delivery across assessment, strategy, design, pilot, implementation, scale, adoption, and benefits realization
- Manage engagement economics, delivery quality, executive governance, risk management, stakeholder alignment, and client outcomes
- Coach and develop partners, directors, senior managers, managers, and consultants while building the next generation of insurance transformation leaders
- Promote a high-quality, inclusive, collaborative, commercially disciplined, and innovation-oriented team culture
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 15+ years of insurance consulting and/or insurance industry experience, including leading large-scale transformation programs for P&C, Life, Health, Specialty, and Reinsurance carriers.
- Proven success as a Partner, Managing Director, Executive Director, or comparable market-facing leader with responsibility for business development, opportunity origination, client relationship management, account growth, revenue generation, and delivery excellence.
- Deep expertise advising insurance clients across core functional areas such as claims, underwriting, policy administration, billing, finance, actuarial, distribution, customer experience, operations, data, and technology modernization.
- Demonstrated ability to sell, shape, and deliver complex transformation initiatives spanning business strategy, operating model design, process transformation, data and analytics, AI/GenAI, intelligent automation, cloud, and core platform modernization.
- Executive presence and credibility with C-suite stakeholders, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, build consensus, and translate strategy into execution.
- Prior experience at a leading consulting firm or equivalent advisory organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA, CPA, CFA, CPCU, ARM, AIC, technology, data, analytics, or insurance certificiations
- Knowledge of insurance platforms and ecosystems, including Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, Salesforce, cloud/data platforms, workflow tools, and emerging InsurTech solutions.

New York City Pay Transparency
Pursuant to the pay transparency laws of New York State and other local ordinances within the state including (but not limited to) New York City, the salary range displayed is for the New York markets. The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Total compensation and benefits consist of salary, group health plan benefits, 401(K), profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave. Forvis Mazars reserves the right to make changes to the salary range based on business needs.

Illinois Wage Transparency
Pursuant to Illinois' Equal Pay Act, the salary range displayed is for the Illinois market. The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Non-exempt/hourly positions will be eligible for time and half pay for employees that work over 40 hours in a workweek. Benefits are eligibility-based and could include group health plan benefits, 401(K), bonuses, profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave.
