The National Private Equity Business Development Executive serves as a growth leader working closely with the Private Equity National Industry Leader (NIL) in the development and execution of the overall industry growth strategy and providing direct business development and pursuit leadership for strategic prospects and clients.

How you will contribute:

  • National Growth Strategy & Coordination
    • Develop a strong working relationship and growth cadence with the National Industry Leader (NIL), Private Equity and key PE services and market leaders to assess market needs, define national growth strategies, monitor progress against goals, and ensure alignment of activities to key focus areas of industry growth
    • In coordination with the NIL, lead/facilitate regular growth meetings with key Market Industry and Service Line leaders, coordinating market growth efforts and strategic pursuits
  • Business Development
    • In alignment with the industry growth strategy, work collaboratively with defined Account Relationship Executives to build account-level growth strategies for the identification, qualification, and pursuit of new business opportunities at a portfolio of named strategic accounts, inclusive of both existing clients and target pursuits. Activities include developing and nurturing relationships with key executive buyers, listening to understand critical business issues/strategic goals, identifying client service opportunities, and engaging and coordinating dedicated account teams across key services in the execution of the account strategy
    • Provide leadership on pursuits to position the firm to win through pursuit best practices, including:
      • Pre-pursuit research, targeting and developing strategic pursuit plans
      • Coordinate with firm-wide specialists and subject matter teams across services and industries to drive collaboration and cross-serve opportunities with our identified accounts
      • Leading internal prep and strategy meetings for opportunity scoping and participating in/facilitating scoping and relationships development meetings with targets
      • Coordinating with necessary market, industry and service line leadership on pursuit and resourcing strategies
      • Leading and coordinating proposal response including developing proposal strategies, win themes and key messages/differentiators as part of pursuit approach
      • Participating in oral presentations and follow-up meetings
      • Providing negotiation/pricing strategy consultation as part of pursuit
      • Supporting contracting through engagement kick-off.
    • Evaluate and support global pursuit opportunities
  • National Industry Engagement
    • Serve as a key face of the firm in the industry, developing referral relationships and qualifying/leading opportunistic pursuits as they arise
    • Participate in trade organization and relevant business networks to build relationships in the community in alignment with industry growth strategy
    • Supporting strategic events and investments aligned with growth strategies
  • Collaboration & Support
    • Serve as a thought partner on business development coaching to Partners, Managing Directors, Directors, and Senior Managers
    • Collaborate extensively with other BDEs around the firm to drive synergies and to share best practices to expand your skillsets and enhance the overall culture and capabilities of the Business Development team.

We are looking for people who are Builders and bring:

  • Experience managing multiple pursuits and strategic account plans simultaneously
  • A thorough understanding of the professional services industry, with knowledge and experience operating in public accounting and/or consulting
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams across numerous competencies to work collaboratively towards group goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining professional relationships with C-level executives and buyers of target companies and clients
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and experience levels, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel to serve clients, as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business-related field
  • At least 10+ years of experience in professional services sales and/or relationship management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Subject matter knowledge and understanding of industries including but not limited to Commercial Products, Technology & Services, Private Equity, and Construction & Real Estate, among others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ year of experience working in the public accounting and consulting industry
  • Experience operating in a business development and relationship development capacity at a Top 10 public accounting and consulting firm
  • Proven experience leading and facilitating teams through sales methodologies and processes, and representative experience meeting and exceeding annual business development goals.
